Summary

PII Blackout welcomes responsible AI indexing and summarization of our public marketing content, product descriptions, and educational guides. We restrict crawling of user accounts, uploads, API endpoints, and processing results. Use of our content for model training requires prior written permission.

1. Operator

2. Machine-readable files

  • llms.txt — curated site map and product summary for LLM agents
  • ai.txt — structured crawling and usage directives
  • robots.txt — standard crawler allow/disallow rules
  • sitemap.xml — public page index

3. Allowed activities

The following uses of our public website content are permitted:

  • Indexing and retrieval for AI-assisted search, with attribution to PII Blackout and a link to the source page
  • Summarization and translation of public guides and product pages
  • Accessibility enhancements (e.g., screen-reader friendly excerpts)
  • Educational and research citation with attribution

4. Restricted activities

The following require prior written consent from ai-policy@piiblackout.com:

  • Using our content to train or fine-tune AI models
  • Commercial AI products that reproduce substantial portions of our guides or documentation
  • Automated scraping at rates that impair site performance

The following are prohibited:

  • Crawling, indexing, or training on user uploads, redaction results, or account data
  • Accessing authenticated areas (/dashboard, /subscribe, /payment, etc.) via automated agents
  • Using our brand name or content to imply endorsement without permission

Public paths intended for discovery include:

  • Homepage, features, pricing, download, and product pages
  • How-to guides under /how-to
  • Use-case pages under /use-cases
  • Privacy, terms, and this AI policy

Paths that must not be crawled or used:

  • /api/
  • /dashboard, /login, /register, /subscribe, /payment, /checkout
  • /uploads/, /results/
  • /reset-password, /forgot-password

6. Attribution

When citing or summarizing our public content, please name PII Blackout and link to the canonical source URL on https://piiblackout.com. For product references, prefer linking to the download or homepage.

7. Rate limiting

Automated agents should respect Crawl-Delay and rate limits in ai.txt. Aggressive crawling may result in IP blocking without notice.

8. Privacy and compliance

This AI policy supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We design our product around offline processing so that user documents are not uploaded to our servers for desktop workflows. Web-based redaction flows may involve temporary processing; those paths are excluded from AI crawling as described above.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected in ai.txt and llms.txt.
